I created this blog in September 2025 after TypePad announced that it was shutting down. I had been with TypePad for twenty-one years, but I had to go somewhere else. So Blogger it was.
Today I updated my academic autobiography for the first time in six and a half years. Because I was about to have adrenal gland surgery when I posted the previous update in mid-2019, I've sometimes thought that I had left my readers with the impression that I had died during surgery.
Fortunately for me, my surgery went well. I just never managed to update my autobiography until today. Sorry about that.
I've moved a few old pages to this new blog. In 2026 I'll keep transferring some of my old content and resume writing new posts. For years I wasn't able to do much with my Typepad blog. But I'm hoping that things will be different with this blog in 2026.
